JLCU strives to meet the needs of the community that are going unmet. We have worked in the community for over 85 years to build a better community.
Through our Community Outreach activities, JLCU volunteers have assisted with a variety of community needs including: WILL Share-A-Story event, Safe Kids Coalition Project, a clean-up day at A Woman’s Place, Carle Hospice’s Camp Healing Heart, the U of I College of Education’s Youth Literature Festival, a Habitat for Humanity home build, and brochure delivery for the Crisis Nursery. JLCU members volunteer for numerous local, nonprofit organizations who have requested assistance, with an emphasis on helping women and children in the community
