Make a difference in your community!
Whether providing school supplies to area schools through League Locker, creating a new Playground at the Center for Women in Transition, or helping to build a Habitat for Humanity house, Junior League has gotten there first when Champaign-Urbana has a need.

Membership Recruitment
The Junior League of Champaign-Urbana begins recruiting new members each spring/summer. Information meetings for interested women will be held this year on June 12 and July 17 - both at 7:00pm. Please call (356-7173) or email colleenrandall@gmail.com Colleen Randall, membership development chair, for details about these meetings and/or to RSVP. The deadline to join Junior League for the 2007-2008 year is August 7. The new group of women who join each year are known in Junior League as a ``Provisional Class". After a welcoming meeting for new members in August, Provisional Class meetings will be held the first Tuesday of the month from September through February.

Membership Guidelines
The Junior League of Champaign-Urbana, Inc. reaches out to all women regardless of race, color, religion or national origin who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism.

Who is Eligible for Membership?
Any woman who has attained her 21st birthday by June 1 of the year in which she is seeking membership.

What are the Requirements for New Members?
1. Develop an understanding of the JL purpose, demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to the community, and show a willingness to be trained as volunteers.

2. Attend monthly meetings for Provisional Members beginning in September and ending in February.

3. Attend monthly Junior League of Champaign-Urbana General Membership Meetings beginning in September and ending in May.

4. Notify a member of the Membership Development Committee when unable to attend a Provisional or General Membership Meeting.

5. Complete a total of 13 volunteer hours (7 hours at Festival of Trees, 3 hours on a JLCU project, and 3 hours on a JLCU project or JLCU fundraiser of choice) by May 31.

6. Participate in a Provisional Class Project chosen by the class to be completed by May 31.

7. Pay the required Provisional Member dues of $118.00. Dues are to be paid in full by August 15. Dues are 100% tax deductible.
